I don’t get out much these days so it was great to get an invite from the good folk at Ping Creates to the pre-launch event for their new mobile game: Super Stretchy Chicken Legs.
It’s a swipe ‘n’ stretch puzzle-platformer where you must escape the horrors of the Nibz Chicken Bitz factory before your chicken companion ends up sliced and diced into poor quality chicken nuggets.
Each level gets progressively harder with it becoming increasingly tricky to find your way to the exit without being squashed, torn to shreds, or disintegrated by some dastardly contraption.
The game’s the brainchild of designer Neil Jack who I got to spend some time chatting with. It’s hard to stand out in today’s crowded mobile space, so it was good to see that Neil had designed the game around a unique mechanic where you take control of the chicken’s legs and stretch them in all sorts of comical ways to guide it safely through the level.
I spent a good thirty minutes or so working through the first dozen levels and had a really good time trying to overcome each level’s puzzles and traps. In fact, it’s clear that everyone there enjoyed their time with the game.
It was great meeting everyone involved in the project and I’m looking forward to the game’s launch on iOS and Android. The team are still working to finish the remaining levels, and I’ll do another little post when it goes live.
In the meantime, keep an eye out on the official website, or better still follow Super Stretchy Chicken Legs on Twitter.
